HAS IT REALLY BEEN THAT LONG?

We're not quite sure we recognize ourselves here. It's like looking in the mirror and saying to yourself, "That couldn't be me! I'm way younger than that!" With a little more skill than I have today, I wish I could scan in how we really look (or is it how we feel inside?). I would upload a picture of the Art and Janet of fifty years ago. Today is our anniversary. These particular pictures were taken almost two years ago, the best I could do today. Maybe, by the time we celebrate "for reals" (after surgeries) we will be able to have more then and now pictures to post. In the meantime, it has been a day when much has been unspoken and we both know we would make the same decision all over again. The highlight of our low-key day so far has been opening a package together from Joan and Howard. We received it a few days ago but saved it for THE DAY. We both shed tears at the love and thoughtfulness which went into the exquisite embroidered and framed announcement of our 50th. It is beautiful.

CONGRATS JANET AND ART! The first thing I did when I got up the morning was write you an email wishing you a happy anniversary, I hope I sent it to the right email address. I have been thinking about you all day and how I feel like I REALLY know you but have never met you. Funny, how people come into our lives just when we need them. May you have many more years to come. Hopefully we can get your family pictures done and you can post one of those on as your "updated" photo! Get feeling better, both of you!!!

I'm so glad to know you both for 44 of the 50 years you've been married. I am so amazed at where I am today, that I know if must be mind boggling at times for you both to see the paths you have taken together. I love and admire you both so much!

You two are the cutest! I'm so happy you're my parents and feel so blessed that you both worked on your marriage (as we know marriage can be work--smile)as it has been a blessing to see how you two have made it through the thick and thin. I'm just babbling on now, but happy anniversary and I love you!
